I started working with Betty almost 2 years ago, 3 months postpartum. At the time, I was the least fit I’d ever been and wanted guidance to safely return to exercise. Now, I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. What began as a short-term plan turned into a long-term commitment—I couldn’t stop after just a couple of months!

Betty is amazing at helping me reach my goals, while also adapting to setbacks. Injuries haven’t slowed progress; she’s focused on building strength and stability to support recovery.

She makes fitness feel accessible and enjoyable, encouraging simple lifestyle changes and making exercise something to look forward to. My 22-month-old has occasionally joined me in sessions, and even he has been supported to enjoy the gym environment.

Betty is easy to talk to, full of helpful advice, and has been a key part of my postnatal journey. Working with her has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my own and my family’s health.

Kind Retreats About Us

Betty

I am a CIMSPA-registered, Level 3 qualified personal coach, specialising in pre- and post-natal training, pilates, core exercise, and nutrition. I work holistically, supporting clients in developing strength, mobility, and self-care in ways that are realistic, sustainable, and tailored to their everyday lives.

My approach is shaped by professional training, ongoing study, and lived experience. Alongside extensive experience in movement-based practice and wellbeing-focused coaching, I am currently training as a psychotherapist at MSc level, which deepens my understanding of how habits, motivation, emotional patterns, and relationships influence wellbeing over time.

I work with clients long-term (often three years or more), taking time to understand their lifestyle, pressures, and routines. From there, we gently shift unhelpful patterns into more supportive forms of self-care. While the work often begins with physical goals, outcomes frequently extend beyond them, supporting improved confidence, resilience, and overall quality of life.

My work is collaborative, reflective, and practical, grounded in consistency, trust, and respect for each client’s individual process.

Petra

I have always treasured the simple, joyful moments in life. My curiosity about how to stay present led me on a lifelong journey of studying meditation and Tibetan Buddhism. In Western society, meditation is often seen as something esoteric; in reality, it is a practical tool that we can all use to support our mental health and wellbeing.

My background is in Visual Arts, and in 2024, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Art and Design at UCL. We live in a complex world in which we are constantly on the move and exposed to vast amounts of information. Through my work, I aim to facilitate creative experiences that encourage playfulness, curiosity, and presence. I believe that engaging in art-making in this way helps us feel more alive, joyful, and connected.

Kind Retreats

Betty and Petra met while studying Fine Art at the School of Applied Arts in Prague. From that moment, what evolved was a lifelong friendship, a shared zest for life, and a mutual interest in exploring what makes life worthwhile. In 2022, we decided to bring together our skills in fitness, mindfulness, and art to create Kind Retreats, shaped by our shared interest in wellbeing and designed to encourage connection, creativity, and a more mindful pace of living.
